The initial test release of the ffmpeg action is here. I'm not sure if it will work on the new intel based macs. I've only tested it on my powerbook so far. This action has the new interface that lets you choose frame rate information as well as size of the exported movies. download page

please leave feedback in the comments section as I'm not positive this will work yet.

There have been over 500 downloads of the quicktime export action (qtexportaction) and still counting. I was real close to finishing the ffmpeg action last week but didn't quite make it. I've been really swamped at work this week and haven't really had the time to work on it anymore. I've got most of my earlier issues resolved. I was having a problem with the destination not being set properly, I think that's mostly behind me now. Another thing that dragged it out was the new frame rate, and size options, which aren't present in the quicktime version. I need to do some more testing and figure out a proper way to package this thing. Monday, August 28, 2006, 10:28 AM
I bought a usb hub the other day from best buy and unfortunately it was defective. Not only did the hub not work, but it fried my usb mouse and the usb ports on my powerbook. I'm currently having the powerbook repaired, but and I took the hub back to best buy for a refund. Unfortunately I'll be without "my precious" for about a week.
I finally figured out a way to change my browsers' proxy settings with automator. The solution should work on safari and firefox. I also figured out how to change the default printer.
I never got around to publishing what I had of the ffmpeg automator action. I was still working on the list of formats before I sent my powerbook in for repairs.

There's been 400 downloads of the QTExportAction. The ffmpeg version is around the corner. I got the conversion to flv working. Leave a comment with the type of video conversions you'd like to do on your mac, so I can include them.Wednesday, August 16, 2006, 02:36 AM - news
I added a option called 'Return' to the QTExportAction which allows you to choose what gets returned as a result of the action. The original version always returned the input, which was useful if you wanted to convert a file into multiple formats. The new version returns either the new version or the original. Now you can add some other post processing steps, like uploading the movies.Next
